London Luminaries

Who are they?

The London Luminaries is a partnership of historic properties in South West London sharing history and heritage through online talks for everyone to enjoy.

The Challenge

London Luminaries tasked Feelingpeaky to overhaul their incumbent website and give it a fresh and accessible look and feel whilst clearly representing its group of historic member organisations and improving its online presence and brand awareness.

The website needed to deliver on several fronts including helping London Luminaries sell tickets for virtual talks, promote visits to individual historic sites across west London, encourage the recruitment of volunteers and increase the number of website users making donations to help continue the Luminaries work.

The website needed to be fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop and in line with the organisations brand guidelines.

The Solution

We split the main content of the site into three key areas – Watch, Visit and Discover – to help ensure that the content was structured in a logical way to meet audience information needs and the organisation’s objectives.

Watch the talks – both past talks and the upcoming new Love & Death series.

Visit the properties – with a page for each of the 15 partner properties and a map showing all property locations to encourage visiting other nearby properties.

Discover the highlights of previous talks – clips of talk highlights and suggestions for other talks you may like

Propositions and key messages are articulated in a clear and motivating way with the tone of voice being consistent and in line with the brand. As a result the content answers organisational objectives, meets users’ aims and is search engine friendly.

There were three other platforms we needed to integrate with the site to ensure we met all parameters of the brief:

  1. TicketSource – a free event ticketing platform to enable users to purchase tickets for the virtual talks.
  2. Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) – a leading charity and bank that facilitates charitable donations to charities and other organisations.
  3. Brevo – an email marketing platform that enables users to sign-up to receive the London Luminaries newsletter.
